Jaundice; Icterus (黃疸)

Today, we are ready to bring Andrew to have his first shot at the hospital. When we were ready to leave home, Andrew's face was very yellow. When we arrived to the hospital, the nurse and the doctor suggested us to have a blood test for Jaundice; Icterus (黃疸). After one hour, the result came out. Andrew's jaundice is very high. he came out as 18. Normally is 15. Doctor suggested me that Andrew has to be at the hospital for three days. I am very worrying since then. I am hopping that everything should be fine. I just miss him when he is not at home now.
Alan also misses his little brother.

Welcome Andrew !！

In the morning of Feb. 8th, i did not even think, I will deliver my baby. In the morning of this day, I had my little blood. I run throw the hospital right away.

When I arrived at the hospital, I was not even have any contractions or anything like that. The nurse put machine on top of my stomache to see the baby's heart beat and my uterus contractions.
The nurse asked me to go for a little walk and come back to the hospital in the afternoon. In the afternoon, I did not have any pain, so the nurse and the doctor asked me to go home.

After going home, not too long ago, I started to feel more pain and I started to take shower and wash my hair. After everything is done, I was ready to go to the hospital. David came back right away. When I arrived in the evening to the hospial, things got worse and worse. My pain is stronger and stronger. I did not even think that Andrew will come today.

At 9 PM something in the evening, the nurse pushed me inside of the delivery room. Alan came out 10 PM something in the evening. It was painful delivery but everything was paid off after that. When I see him after that, I was so happy.

Andrew looks like Alan when he was little. Both brothers look like the same. Both sons look like their father.

Andrew likes to cry very much. he cries when he is hungry. he cries when he is wet. he cries when he needs company. Everyone loves Andrew very much. I love him also. Thanks to present of life gave me this little child to be my son.

My Tummy, 37 Weeks

My tummy now in these days is getting bigger and bigger, heavier and heavier. It is difficult to move to one place now. Even it is hard to go to many places.

After I felt that my baby is having less movement, and my uterus contraction is very often, the doctor suggested me to stay in bed for a whole day long. It is hard for me to stay in bed and do nothing. I am usually do many thing, and stay inactive is hard for me.
Andrew likes to move to one side of my tummy. He likes that side I do not know why. He is very active child always moving and kicking. I cannot wait to meet him when he comes out.Will he look like me or my husband? According to the ultrasound, he looks like more to my hsuband not me.  

Andrew

Now Andrew is 37 weeks. The doctor said that Andrew can come out at any time, I have to pay attention to his movements. I do not want him to come out before Chinese New Year, otherwise, he won't be a little tiger. he will be a little cow.

I am talking to Andrew saying that Mommy wants him to come out after Chinese New year. He doesn't have any reaction. I do not know if he listens to me or not. Anyways, everything is life. Above wants to let out, he will be out. If above ordered him to come out after Chinese New year, He will be after Chinese New year.

After 10 years, I am having another child. My oldest son and this son are 10 years apart. Alan is a big boy now, he knows how to help me all the time.

Now, my stomach is getting bigger and bigger, heavier and heavier. It is hard for me to get some sleep during night time. My Andrew is kicking and kicking inside of me. It is really hard , very hard, but my due date will come soon. I will enjoy my presence of Andrew soon.

Andrew 37 Weeks

Now, I have to go to the hospital each week for check up, until the day I am delivering my baby. Now, Andrew is 2,553. He gained 153 grams.

My uterus contraction is getting much better. I guess, I was tired arranging my house also with school final tests, there's no time to take a rest o have a good sleep. I need to take more sleep and relax, so my tummy and Andrew will get much better.

I am glad that Andrew is better now, the doctor said, he changed his position to be ready to come out. His head is down already. I am very happy to hear good news from the doctor. Now I have to pay attention to my body for contractions, or bleeding or water broke.

Alan's Breakfast

My oldest son is very sweet. When I was at the hospital, the first day doctor is not allow me to move or I going to the bathroom. My son was helping me to take a disposal bathroom chair for me to do my necessities. After that, he went to throw it away the waste in the bathroom. Nurses saw that this little child can help me when I need somebody to help me. Everyone saw it and they said how this little boy can help his mommy when his mommy needed help.

After, I came back home from the hospital, my son continue taking care of me. He prepared breakfast for me. He brought his home made breakfast to my bed.

He prepared very typical American breakfast, it has an egg, potato pancake, and cereal. He made the table very nice and tasty. My son is very sweet. He knows how to take care of people when they are sick.

Hospital, Daily Meals

Each day, I have a very special meal at the hospital. Each day the food looks delicious. It will cost $380 a day per meals. I can get breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea time, diner, and a little snack before bed time. Eating 6 times a day like a big pig.
I have to have each meal in bed. It is so painful.
This is my breakfast, it has vegetables, noodles, meat and two kinds of drinks. Sometimes, it has bread, hamburger meat, vegetables, ham, and two kinds of drinks. It is not too bad at all.

This is my lunch. Sometimes, it has fish or meat and a lot of vegetables and the rice, of course soup and fruit are included.

This is the morning and afternoon tea time. It has a drink only in the morning and in the afternoon, it has a little dessert and the drink.

This is dinner time. It doesn't have too much difference from the lunch. It has soup, fruit, rice, vegetables, meat or fish. Sometimes, I like the food at the hospital and sometimes, I do not like it at all. It is depends on the vegetables and meat that they prepare.

Changing Rooms

At 12:00 P.M. the nurse transferred me to the room at the hospital. My room number is 4012 B.

This is the double room at the hospital. It looks good, it has everything people needed. It has a fridge, TV, bed and the bathroom.

This is my bed, I have to be used to this bed for a while. I have to be here for a long time.

On the wall, there's name of people. Who is going to be in the morning, who is going to be in the afternoon and the evening turns. Overall, people at the hospital are very kind.

Andrew 36 Weeks

On Sunday Jan. 24th, 2010, whole day long, I did not feel Andrew was moving inside of me. I thought he was tired and he needed some sleep. We went to have dinner at Da-Da Tea Shop (大大茶樓) at Tainan City Center. This restaurant is mainly on 飲茶 [yin cha], Cantonese little snacks, for tea time only.

After diner, we went back home, at that time, I started to feel that Andrew was not even right. David bought orange juice for me to drink and see if the baby would move more, unfortunately, nothing. I went online and I registered to see the doctor at the first hour on Monday morning. Unfortunately, I got the second to the last number.

When I entered to the doctor's office, I told him that baby has problems, he blamed at me right away. he said if the baby didn't have a heart beat, it was not good for you and for anybody else. He asked me to more tests.

After the first test came out, he told me that I have to stay at the hospital, I cannot even go to home. I cannot even go to the bathroom or move around. I have to lie down in bed until my condition will get better.

I am at the hospital laying down doing nothing.

I have to put out all the machine in my tummy.

There are two circles. The first one (down) it the baby's heart beat and the second one (up) is my uterus contraction. It will measure how many beats per minute. I usually get 10 - 15 minutes around 70. If I lie down on the side of my tummy, I can get normal beat which is 5 to 20, no more than 20.

It is so painful to lie down at the hospital's bed doing nothing. I can just eat and do nothing else. From this time, I felt that I am a big pig with a baby inside of me, ha ha ha...

Now, Andrew is 2,400. Now, he is still small to come out. He needs to gain more pounds before delivery, ha ha ha...

Andrew 35 Weeks

Last night, I went to the doctor and I am 35 weeks and two days now. The doctor says Andrew is very small. He is just 2,280 KG. I guess in Chinese size, it is not too big and not too small. I remembered in 32 weeks, Andrew was just 1,909 KG. How much he gain? He is growing 370 KG. in two weeks. It is amazing how much he can get bigger and bigger.

In these days, my tummy gets heavier and heavier. More than that, it is so difficult to sleep. Any position now, it is so difficult to get sleep.

I am hopping that after Chinese new year, my Andrew will come out to see the world. I am looking foward to meet Andrew.

Andrew 32 Weeks

Yesterday, I went to see the doctor and the doctor told me that my baby is growing to 1,909 KG. From 1,460 to 1909, he is growing 446 KG. The doctor asked me if I have some problems, I told him that my tummy is getting very tight.

He did not ask me more questions, he told me that I have to take a rest and do nothing. It is better for me to lie down in bed. Not standing all the time, I have to try to seat down and relax. How can I do it? The school gave me so many classes and so many meeting to attend. I cannot even relax at my work place. When I go back home, Alan needs my help. He always finds me and he wants me to help him or teach him all the time.

My husband David is trying to help me with house chores. He is trying, but he sometimes forgets what to do. He is too lazy to do things around the house. When my in-law parents come to Tainan, I am very worrying that my house will get too messy.

Anyways, I shouldn't worrying too much, I have to take care of Andrew. He cannot come out in three weeks, he will be 35 weeks then, he will be too little. He has to come to this world in 6 weeks. But that time, he will be big enough.

Andrew's Present

David's cousin and his family came to our house on Saturday afternoon. They have 5 children and only two of them (the twins) came to our house. Other three children had to go to school for extra study.

One of the present that David's cousin's wife gave to Andrew was a little baby box. This box is small but valuable.
I opened the box and the box contains little gold for Andrew.
It is so cute and expensive present from them. The box contains a little necklace, two bracelets and two rings. Also it has a little cute bear.

Andrew will like it. He is so lucky that everyone gave him a present. When I had Alan for the first time, people also gave Alan presents. Alan had more gold compared to Andrew. My grandma bought a lot of golds for Alan but I do not know if she will buy it for Andrew.
